WineCrisp

WineCrisp™ is a cross between Rock 41-112 and PRI 841-103 and was named PRI 2463-101. It is a disease resistant variety from the same breeding program that gives us Liberty and other disease resistant varieties. It was renamed WineCrisp to highlight its color and texture. The apple is medium-large, about the size of a Gala, and is round. Its skin is a dull rusty red color with creamy white flesh. The flesh is breaking and juicy. WineCrisps™ are full-flavored, subacidic, and fruity with a spicy and aromatic flavor.

It is resistant to powdery mildew and fire blight and is immune to apple scab. The tree grows vigorously and should be thinned to avoid biennial cropping. Apples grow in cluster on spurs and should be thinned for largest fruits. Good storer under ideal conditions.
